As the name of our inn, “cup of tea” (to each person’s taste), suggests, we aim to create a place where our guests’ tastes are comfortably enhanced with the expertise and hospitality of the staff.
A welcoming inn
Groups, couples, families with children — anyone can enjoy a leisurely stay at cup of tea : ensemble, an intimate inn with a total of 8 rooms.
The simple alcove beds enclosed by natural wood are spacious and comfortable.
The lounge, also open to the community, is a place where locals happily mingle and chat.

Collaboration with local industry and materials
In order to provide a rich experience maximizing the mountains surrounding Takayama, the building was made with an abundance of Japanese cedar from the nearby forests and hardwoods from Gifu Prefecture.
We created an elegant space making the most of the region’s quality resources with Hida Sangyo, a professional wooden furniture manufacturer representing Hida Takayama, as a collaboration partner.
History as a food wholesaler and bank
cup of tea : ensemble’s building began its history as the flagship store and warehouse of a food wholesaler half a century ago. It was later used as a bank before being renovated into the current inn.
Taking over the building’s history as an indispensable place for the everyday activities of the locals, we strive to operate an inn that continues to provide new possibilities for the town.
